73rd Indiana Volunteer Infantry Regiment

Whether you're researching the Civil War for history or ancestory, this website can be a resource for soldiers of the 73rd and 51st Indiana Regiments.

These soldiers were from Lake, LaPorte, Porter, St. Joe, Marshall and Cass counties in northern Indiana and were mustered in on August 16, 1862. After two weeks, still in training, they marched to reinforce Union troops during the Confederate invasion of Kentucky and the Battle of Perryville.
